Safflower is a plant with white, yellow, orange, red and cream flowers. It is an annual plant species. Since the seeds of the safflower plant contain a high amount of (30-50%) oil, they are used in industry to obtain oil. The remaining content of the safflower seed after the oil is extracted is called Safflower Meal.
Safflower Meal is used in rations to meet the protein needs of ruminant animals due to its protein content of 22-24%.
